Move over rabbit ears, Sarantel's antennas are much smaller and less clunky. The company, through UK operating subsidiary Sarantel Limited, designs and produces miniature antennas for manufacturers of portable wireless devices, such as GPS receivers, satellite radios, and satellite phones. They are embedded in devices used by the automotive, military, and sports and entertainment industries. Sarantel Limited was formed in 2000 as a result of a management buyout of technology developed by Dr. Oliver Leisten, Sarantel's CTO. Its antennas are sold online and through regional sales offices and distributors worldwide. The group also maintains subsidiaries in the US and Asia, where most of its customers are located.
