Description When life gives you leather scraps, make synthetic leather. That could be the motto for Lizhan Environmental. Subsidiary Lizhan Textiles, in the heart of China's leather-processing province, uses scrap leather and other local materials to produce synthetic leather and other fabrics for furniture, auto upholstery, and clothing manufacturers as well as for fabric distributors. It sells its products domestically and exports to the US and a handful of other countries. A majority of sales come from recycled leather fabric though the company, through subsidiary Hongzhan, is developing an environmentally friendly imitation leather called Evergreen for the auto upholstery market. Lizhan filed to go public in mid-2010.
