Maxol Oil Limited supplies both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland with fuels. In the north it is a major retailer of motor fuel. It has a retail network of 37 company-owned outlets and supplies 57 independently owned dealerships. It also retails and wholesales heating oil and commercial fuel oils. In the Republic of Ireland, Maxol Oil has a network of 20 distributors that wholesale heating oil, agri-fuels, lubricants, and industrial fuels. The company is a part of the Maxol Group, which controls a number of oil-related businesses and is controlled by the McMullan family. William McMullan, who was a chemist, founded the business, originally McMullan Brothers Limited, in 1920.
