Description Benedict College is a Baptist-affiliated liberal arts college with annual enrollment of approximately 2,900 full- and part-time students from the US states and abroad. Its 29 majors include academic areas such as business, education, social sciences, and technology. In 1870 the American Baptist Home Mission Society created Benedict Institute, whose goal it was to train emancipated slaves to teach and preach. In 1894 the school name was changed to Benedict College.
