IBC Vehicles traffic in the Trafic (van) and a few other commercial vehicles. Formed in 1987 as a joint venture between General Motors (GM) and Isuzu, IBC became wholly owned by GM in 1998 and part of the Vauxhall operating brand. A year later, IBC Vehicles' Luton, UK-based plant became the cornerstone of a joint venture between GM and Renault, set to expire in 2013. Renault has steered design, development, and engine supply, and GM, manufacture of the Renault Trafic. IBC, a dedicated large van plant since 2003, is the only GM plant with capacity to produce the Trafic as well as Vauxhall/Opel Vivaro and Nissan Primastar. It is also reportedly the biggest van maker in the UK, building up to 95,000 units a year.
