Description Picanol develops the machines that make weaving possible. The company makes air jet weaving machines, as well as machines based on rapier technology. Picanol's OEM Business division produces technical components and systems for the textile and other industries under brands such as Protonic, Te Strake Textile, and Steel Heddle. Some 2,600 weaving mills worldwide use Picanol's weaving machines. The company operates production facilities throughout Asia, Europe, and the US. The company launched its air jet weaving machine OMNIplus" 800 in 2005. Shareholders Paul Steverlynck and L.J.R.M Tack together control about 61% of the voting rights in the Picanol Group.
