The Florida Department of Children & Families (DCF) is charged with protecting the vulnerable, promoting strong and economically self-sufficient families, and advancing personal and family recovery. The DCF provides a variety of social services in pursuit of its mission, coordinating and partnering with local governments and private organizations when possible to increase the efficiency and scope of its programs and services. With an annual budget of nearly $3 billion, program areas include adoption and foster care, mental health and substance abuse treatment, food stamp, Medicaid, and other financial assistance programs serving eligible people.
