Vertellus manufactures chemicals for the agricultural, nutritional, pharmaceutical, personal care, and performance material markets. The company is a leading global producer of pyridine (used in herbicides and other applications), picolines (used in herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides), and Vitamin B-3. Vertellus is the largest producer of DEET (a primary ingredient in mosquito repellent), and pharmaceutical intermediates, as well as castor oil derivatives and citrate polymer additives for use in plastics, adhesives, coatings, and sealants. It operates manufacturing facilities in Asia, U.K. and North America.
