China Nepstar Chain Drugstore doesn't just want to be a star in China's pharmaceutical sky, it wants to be the whole galaxy. The fast-growing company operates China's largest retail drugstore chain, with more than 2,950 stores in about 75 cities in a dozen Chinese provinces. Besides pharmacy services, China Nepstar stores carry over-the-counter drugs; nutritional supplements; and herbal, personal care, and family care products. It also sells consumable, seasonal, and promotional items, as well as about 1,500 private label products (about 30% of sales). China Nepstar distributes to stores through a national distribution center in Shenzhen and 11 regional distribution centers throughout China.
