Rainier Tent Introduces Updated High Peak Tent We’re proud to introduce our new and improved High Peak Tent! The new High Peak tent system provides an elegant look that attracts attention for any event. The frame design allows for quick and easy installation without any tools. Our lite track or full-strength system can easily convert to the new High Peak system for a minimal investment. This allows maximum flexibility and adds dollars to your bottom line. The new High Peak features a flying centerpole tension top with catenary (arched) design and does not use interior support poles, maximizing the usable space. The tent comes in a vinyl color coded bag for easy storage and identification, and optional color flags are available to compliment and add color. Making Art with Fabric in Specialty Fabric Review Rainier’s Vice President of Business Development, Bruce Dickinson, was featured in the August issue of Specialty Fabric Review! In an article that explores making art from fabric and graphics, Bruce discussed some of our largest scale projects, including the London Olympics stadium wrap, and the upcoming Salt Lake City airport art installation. Though we’ve made a big splash with high profile projects that inspire innovative fabrication techniques, what’s the core of our business for the past 125 years and unites our four distinct business units is fabric. Not all clients understand the advantages of fabric for display, but once those differences are pointed out, many clients go along with the choice. “Typically with Rainier, clients have been artists, architects or designers,” says Dickinson. “Sometimes we get a request because of our expertise with fabric. In effort to expand on our commitment to respect and protect the environment, Rainier teammates volunteered their time on a Saturday in August to clean up local park, Morrill Meadows in Kent! The crew worked together to remove some evasive species and replaced the area with mulch. We had a great time together and giving back to the community. This is only the start, as we’ll continue volunteering at Morrill Meadows to plant and help the park evolve. Morrill Meadows is an off-leash park for small and shy dogs, so our efforts also benefit our furry friends 🐶...Show more

Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood is home to its booming tech sector and over the summer, it got an eye-catching update when an 8 story tall Shepard Fairey print appeared on the building at 9th and Thomas. Shepard Fairey is the iconic artist most commonly known for his OBEY art and clothing line. A banner this big puts the grand in grand format printing! Batting 1000! One of Rainier’s highest initiatives is to reduce the amount of waste we send to the landfill. Sometimes this leads us to some new and interesting connections! This month, our fabric shop had some batting leftover from a project. We knew that we didn’t have a use for it, so instead of putting it on a shelf to collect dust or throwing it away, we went looking for an organization that could put it to good use. That would be the Washington Stars Quilt Guild! Washington Stars Quilt Guild members lovingly hand make items to donate to a variety of recipients in our South Sound community including foster children, Providence St. Peters Family Birth Center, Thurston County Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, Baby Bank, Hospice, and Safe Place. Byron from the quilt guild stopped by to pick up the batting! We’re so glad that we could not only keep a still useful material from the landfill, but also give back to our community and support this great organization....Show more
