Description The Newhall Land and Farming Company specializes in giving Los Angelinos a place to get away from it all. The company is a real estate developer specializing in master-planned, mixed-use communities, primarily north of the Los Angeles metro area. Newhall owns some 15,000 acres in California, most of which started out as bucolic agricultural land that has gained in value as the City of Angels sprawls northward. Some 30 miles north of downtown L.A. is Newhall's flagship project, the city of Valencia (named after the orange), established in 1965. The company is a subsidiary of Newhall Land Development (formerly Landsource Communities).
