Pasqal announces new Chairman, co-CEO and new divisions New Structure for Integrated Approach PASQAL is formalizing its structure with three new Divisions: Hardware, Software and Product. This organization will enable the company to offer customers full-stack cutting-edge solutions, combining hardware and software advances. Loïc Henriet will move from Chief Technology Officer to co-CEO and oversee those divisions in his new role. The First Advanced Quantum Processing Unit Delivered by Pasqal to GENCI and CEA A delivery that strengthens Europe’s Position in Hybrid High-Performance Computing and brings industrial use cases closer to fruition Paris, June 19, 2024 – A pioneering 100+ qubit quantum processing unit (QPU), acquired by GENCI (Grand Équipement National de Calcul Intensif), was delivered at TGCC, the CEA computing center, announce the three partners. As the first QPU to be delivered to a third party by Pasqal, a global leader in neutral atom quantum computing, this significant milestone is part of the broader High-Performance Computer and Quantum Simulator hybrid (HPCQS) project, co-funded by the European HPC Joint Undertaking, along with GENCI, in the field of HQI (France Hybrid HPC Quantum Initiative), supported by the France2030 investment program. Pasqal and Thales Successfully Solve Satellite Planning Challenges with Neutral-Atom Quantum Computing Paris, France – May 17, 2024 – Pasqal, a global leader in neutral atom quantum computing, in partnership with Thales, today announced a major advancement within the AQUAPS project. This innovative project aimed to explore neutral atom architectures to solve optimization problems, with a particular focus on satellite planning. For the past three years, the teams from Pasqal and Thales, supported by the Île-de-France region and GENCI, have been exploring new methods to optimize planning and scheduling processes of critical systems using Pasqal’s quantum processor. Planning (selection of policies and procedures suitable for carrying out a mission or project) and scheduling (converting project action plans into an operational timetable) are key steps in many critical applications at Thales: logistics, air traffic control, industrial automation, resource allocation and disaster recovery assistance. These calculations are extremely complex and involve long processing times on classical computers.
