Change seems to be the only constant for Counsel RB Capital (which was known as C2 Global Technologies prior to 2011). The asset liquidation and patent licensing company sold its original business -- the operation of a communications network -- in 2003 and began providing phone and Internet service to residential and business customers. It sold the telecom unit, which provided long-distance and business communications services, to North Central Equity in 2005 to focus on the licensing of patents including two Voice-over-IP (VoIP) technologies. Counsel RB Capital is also involved in the acquisition and disposition of distressed and surplus assets in North America. Counsel Corporation owns 93% of the company.
