Mission Mission: The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. Vision: The YWCA of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County envisions a community where every woman and girl is respected as an individual and celebrated for her unique contributions to family and society. We see a time where every woman and girl is secure, fully independent and healthy in body, mind and spirit.
Description Our mission lives in the soul of everyone at YWCA of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County because we demand a world of equity and human decency as we operate the county’s only domestic violence safe house. We envision a world of opportunity. We commit ourselves to the work of justice every day.
Our community and our clients demand justice in a thousand different ways. Here, a woman is empowered to leave an abusive relationship. Here, a family breaks the cycle of violence. Here, we bear witness to a survivor’s dignity, and celebrate their victories. They keep our commitment to justice strong, because we know first-hand how much more work we must get up and do.
Our power comes from the women and girls we serve. We are thought leaders. We are fearless movers. We are innovative shakers. We move justice out of our doors and into the power structures that determine the future. Our voices rise together to do the work.
We will lift voices until the world sees women and girls the way we do:
