Description Transport for Cairo (TfC) is an advisory practice established in Egypt in 2015, specialized in sustainable urban mobility with a focus on public transport and on informal service provision. We work at the strategic level on data collection, public consultation, modelling & simulation, project appraisal, sustainable travel planning and transport planning domains. We work across all mobility and transport modes, covering rail and metro, BRT, formal bus services, informal bus and shared taxi services, private motorized modes, micro-mobility and active travel (cycling and pedestrian). We further collect and manage urban data covering jobs, housing and social infrastructure. We actively develop knowledge and initiatives to transform transport in emerging cities covering: • Digital transformation and electrification of informal bus services; • Informal transport change management from the sociological, gender and economic perspectives; • Decarbonization, and the need for an equitable, zero-carbon development path for Africa. Besides our advisory practice, we develop digital tools to facilitate data collection, management and analysis in data-poor environments, and are long-term data suppliers to global tech companies.
