We want to, first, be a fantastic place to dine, and to, second, be a dedicated gluten free bakery and restaurant where people with Celiac Disease can pick any item off the menu and know that it is going to taste amazing and also be safe for them to eat. Our first responsibility is to our customers, whom we wish to please with warm and welcoming customer service and the finest products on the market, that also happen to be gluten free. To meet our customers’ needs and exceed their expectations, everything we make and do must be of the best possible quality. At the same time, LILAC PATISSERIE LLC must work hard to reduce costs so that our gluten free products can be as affordable as possible to our customers. Our goal as a company is to constantly exceed our customers’ expectations of gluten free food, so as to drive more business. Description The vision for Lilac Pâtisserie is a collaborative effort of husband and wife team, Gillian and Alam Muralles. Alam Muralles has worked in some of the best kitchens in Southern California for the last decade. Alam has held jobs in every area of a kitchen and worked his way up the kitchen ranks into management positions. Alam’s expertise lies in managing staff and overseeing kitchen operations – he is also an expert in cake formulae and construction, having created cakes for some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities. He prides himself in being a fair and humble leader. Gillian Muralles was diagnosed with Celiac disease in April 2002 and has been on a gluten free diet ever since. Opening a gluten free bakery was the stuff of dreams until she left her corporate job on the East Coast and moved to Los Angeles to attend the world famous Le Cordon Bleu culinary school. There she studied all aspects of gluten, learning how it functions in numerous applications, ranging from breads to croissants to cakes, so that she could develop gluten free recipes that are just as good, if not better, than their gluten-containing counterparts. After graduating with a diploma in Pâtisserie and Baking, Gillian set to work developing recipes while simultaneously working at some of the best bakeries in Los Angeles. Gillian and Alam met at one of these such bakeries, where they were teamed together to create unbelievable custom and wedding cakes. After getting married, starting their family, and moving to Santa Barbara, Gillian and Alam are happy to offer unbelievably delicious and completely gluten free recipes to Santa Barbara and the world.
Lilac Pâtisserie is a dedicated gluten free bakery and café. All of the products that we make and sell are gluten free. Our primary business is the sale of beautifully decorated and delicious cakes. We offer 12 signature cake flavors and pride ourselves in the formulations that we have worked hard to create. We kindly decline substitutions or changes to our flavors, unless the customer requires a change due to allergy or food intolerance.
We offer coffee beverages and pastries for the morning crowd, as well as breakfast items such as scrambled eggs and granola on the weekdays and brunch items. We offer a lunch menu consisting of a soup du jour and an assortment of salads and sandwiches. We have an online store which offers all of our products for in-store pickup, as well as a limited selection of items for shipping within the contiguous United States.
