Description Kintetsu is best known for its railroad operations, but the company's businesses run on multiple tracks. Its roughly 2,000 railcars run on about 500 km of track and transport more than 1.6 million people daily, shuttling commuters and tourists between Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, and Nagoya. In addition to railways, the company's core business areas are real estate (commercial and residential development and management), retail (shops and restaurants in terminals and department stores), and hotel and resort management. Non-core activities include taxi and bus transportation, tourism, freight forwarding (Kintetsu World Express), apparel manufacturing, communications, and engineering. Kintetsu was formed in 1910.
