Carrizo Oil & Gas sees its future in 3-D. An independent exploration and production company that explores for oil and gas in a handful of shale plays across the US, and in proven onshore fields along the Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana, Carrizo aggressively acquires 3-D seismic data and arranges land lease options in conjunction with conducting seismic surveys. As part of its shale strategy, the company is exploiting the Marcellus play in Appalachia and the Eagle Ford and Barnett plays in Texas. Carrizo has additional properties in the Rockies, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, New Mexico, and in the UK North Sea. In 2010 the firm reported proved reserves of 841 billion cu. ft. of natural gas equivalent.
