Mission We empower and invest in diverse technology talent, in order to increase representation for all people, and create higher-performing enterprise organizations.
Description Having been born in London to Black Caribbean and White Irish immigrants, race and identity has played a key role in my life from a young age. I believe diversity is a strength, in which different backgrounds and experiences contribute to better teams, organizations, products, services and society as a whole. We should all be doing our part to improve parity across gender, race, ethnicity and be inclusive of every sexual orientation. We cannot build products or services without representation from the people and communities that use them.
The underrepresentation of certain groups in enterprise IT is clear to see. Strategio’s mission directly tackles these problems by proactively sourcing, investing, training, and delivering more diverse talent for enterprise organizations.
We won’t sit here and tell you we’ve been around for 10+ years and hold a huge market share. We are a new company, founded in 2021 off the back of a global pandemic and during a time when many corporations are rightly highlighting the need for racial equality. COVID-19 gave us all a lot of time to think about what matters to us. There have been dramatic changes in how we work, collaborate, and interact across society.
Before starting Strategio, it became clear to me that I wanted to put my time and energy into something positive. I wanted to change the lives of thousands of technologists by creating opportunities that they might have never had. At the same time, I wanted to advance the productivity and success of enterprise organizations by providing them with a reliable and scalable pipeline of high-quality tech talent. Earlier in my career, I would regularly talk with friends in the industry about the lack of talent for key roles such as Cloud, DevOps, SRE, Data Science, and Cybersecurity. We would sit and discuss how we could hire more people from schools, but there was always a gap in knowledge between what universities were teaching and the skills required for the available jobs.
Finally, I can say that we have the entire pipeline figured out. From sourcing high-quality and diverse tech talent, removing their barrier to entry through paid and expert-led training, to delivering the talent into long-term career opportunities with amazing customers.
I’ve been fortunate to work in London, New York, and now Miami. I’ve worked with some of the highest performing companies in the world and placed some truly awesome people into their dream jobs across all of Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Off the back of this experience and network, we were able to secure multimillion-dollar funding to get Strategio off the ground.
