Description Toyo Seikan Kaisha has a can-do attitude. Operating through multiple subsidiary and affiliated companies, Toyo Seika rivals Japan's can makers, producing and selling containers, including bottles made from glass and plastic, such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET), PET pouches, tin cans, and paper packaging products. Beverage can-making accounts for some 50% of sales. The company also contract manufactures aerosol cans, packaging machinery, and product filling. Toyo Seikan's Steel Plate operations make steel plate and allied processed materials. Japan is Toyo Seikan's core market. Founded in 1917, Toyo Seikan was first to domestically market oxygen scavenger sachets, a packaging material used to preserve food.
