Description Founded in 1896, Laurel is an independent school for girls, Kindergarten–Grade 12, with a coed Early Childhood program. Laurel has two campuses. At our Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights, Kindergarteners begin their journey through Primary School. Third–Fifth Graders complete the Primary years just seven miles away at our 150-acre Butler Campus in Novelty. Girls return to the Lyman Campus for Middle and Upper School to embark on Sixth–Twelfth Grades. The Butler Campus is also home to our state-of-the-art athletics facilities and Ruhlman Family Center.
Rooted in research in how girls learn, grow, and lead, Laurel equips girls to thrive in a challenging academic program, fosters their resilience within a compassionate community, and empowers them to build authentic connections that drive meaningful outcomes.
