The story of Nulo Pet Food is really the story of Michael and Max. Michael Landa, Nulo’s founder and CEO, was running one of the nation’s largest pet care businesses in California when he witnessed first-hand the growing demand for pet sitters who could administer insulin shots for diabetic dogs and cats. He discovered the root of the problem was the abundance of low-meat, high carb pet foods on the market and was worried about what he was feeding his own best friend, Max.
This “fast food nation” for pets inspired Landa to partner with some of the country’s leading animal nutrition experts to formulate a response – Nulo – and they developed recipes that are high in meat, low in carbs and low glycemic. Nulo gives dogs and cats a real shot at leading happy, healthy, active lives – the guiding spirit that generated Nulo’s name; “NU’trition meets “LO”ve in every bite.
Today, Nulo offers industry-leading dog and cat food products, in a multibillion-dollar industry that’s ripe for innovation and change.
