Recognized for our outstanding products, collaborative service, and strategic insight, Clearwater Paper is proud to be a premier independent supplier of paperboard packaging products to North American converters. Our history can be traced back more than 100 years. In the early 1900s, Frederick Weyerhaeuser and a group of investors founded Clearwater Timber Company, purchasing prime white pine forestland from railroad owners and other interests in north central Idaho. The Clearwater Timber Company and other forest products interests later merged together to create Potlatch Corporation. In 2008, Potlatch Corporation spun off its pulp and paper assets to create a completely new and separate corporation called Clearwater Paper. Our company has a long history of manufacturing essential products that enhance everyday life for millions of people. We do this while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and environmental stewardship. We actively engage with our employes and communities to help improve the quality of life for all. In 2024, Clearwater Paper acquired our third pulp and paperboard mill and divested our tissue business to further our transformation into a premier independent supplier of paperboard packaging products to North American converters. As we look towards the future, we will continue to look for ways to improve, scale and diversity our paperboard business while remaining committed to sustainability and our people.

When it comes to paper, Sappi Limited is actually unlimited. The company is one of the world's top producers of coated fine papers, such as those used in books, magazines, brochures, and annual reports, among many applications. Fine paper, coated and uncoated, is the company's principal product; about 6 million tons of paper are churned out annually. Its Forest Products business produces kraft pulp, containerboard, packaging paper, and newsprint, as well as plantation timber. Sappi is also a big producer of chemical cellulose, used to make acetated tow and viscose fiber. The company owns and manages forestland in South Africa. Its distribution arm, Sappi Trading, sells products outside of Sappi's core markets.
