Description The Goldfield Corporation earns more laying cable now than it used to digging for mother lodes. Through subsidiary Southeast Power, Goldfield builds and maintains electrical facilities in the Southeast, West, and Mid-Atlantic regions for utilities and industrial customers, including Florida Power & Light Company and Duke Energy. The unit also installs transmission lines and fiber-optic cable. Goldfield's Bayswater Development subsidiary maintains real estate operations in Florida, specializing in developing waterfront condominiums for retirees. The company, which had been in the mining industry since 1906, divested those operations in 2002 after deciding that it had become economically unfeasible.
