Freedom Preparatory Academy Charter Schools prepare all students grades K-12 to excel in college and in life. Freedom Prep will transform education for students of color across the South.
Freedom Preparatory Academy is a preK-12 charter school network in Memphis, Tennessee. Our mission is to prepare all students in grades preK-12 to excel in college and in life. We believe that every child has the right to a quality education, no matter their zip code or geography. Our vision is that every child would have the same competitive advantage as the most privileged children in America.
Freedom Prep opened in August of 2009 with a class of 96 sixth graders. We now serve over 2,300 students in grades preK-12. All students in elementary school, middle school and high school deserve a high-quality public education that prepares them for the demands of college and the professional world. A strong foundation in character development is essential to complete students’ well-rounded education. Through a highly structured, academically rigorous environment, students will master the core subjects; develop advanced academic skills; and demonstrate our school’s core values: respect, responsibility, integrity, excellence and community. These core values govern all of our interactions among students, staff, parents and community partners.
