Description Unlike some ambitious executives and politicians, Sanken Electric isn't seeking power. The company deals with electrical power every day, offering its lines of power management semiconductors, switching power supplies, and uninterruptible power systems (UPS) for equipment that needs to run constantly, including home appliances, automobiles, office equipment, and factory gear. Among its semiconductor parts are diodes (including light-emitting diodes, or LEDs), power integrated circuits, thyristors, and transistors. Sanken Electric also makes cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs), which are used as backlights in LCDs, the displays in cell phones and laptops. The company gets around 70% of its sales in Japan.
