I have been working at 22squared full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Smart, talented people who think big-picture

    Cons

Very top-heavy, very little room for growth once you're in

    I worked at 22squared full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Worked down at the Tampa office. Office is cool and people are nice.

    Cons

Tampa’s main client is Publix which makes for a lack of varied work. If you’re lucky you get to work on their other accounts every once in a while. They can’t seem to land new clients on top of all of that, so even if you did work on different clients they’d be the same ones over and over again.

The organization is also very top heavy, with a ton of VPs preventing employees from moving up internally because all the spots have already been taken.

    Advice to Management

The agency has done some good work, but it’s time to modernize the approach to new biz and empower lower level employees to think big.

    I worked at 22squared full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A few good creatives that left shortly after they realized this “agency” has no opportunity and completely cut off from the rest of the ad world.

    Cons

Bad Creative directors who are desperate for work and take it away from any lower level creatives

No opportunity. Dwindling roster. No new business. Nothing cutting edge or exciting. Don’t come here if you are a hungry Creative that doesn’t like to drink the kool-aid

Too many stale people stuck in extremely high, immovable positions.

This place is a cult and if you don’t align to their white-washed passive aggressive “culture” you will be chastised.

    Advice to Management

An entire upheaval or a buy out. Stop lying to creatives that interview.

    Pros

Independant/Employee owned agency with heart and soul.
Creatively ambitious and strategicially driven with an entrepreneurial, family feel culture.

    Cons

no cons to gripe about. Great team, work, and culture. 22 fosters a very collaborative environment and instead of layers, it functions more strategic and nimble.

    Advice to Management

Ensure we are progressive/competitive on all fronts and
continue to promote and provide continuous development to keep employees engaged.

    I worked at 22squared full-time

    Pros

-Generous vacation policy (3 weeks to start, increases with tenure)
-Closes for a week or so at Christmas
-The people they employ (but high turnover, so your friends will leave eventually)

    Cons

    -Pay is pretty low
    -Benefits are incredibly expensive
    -EXTREMELY Top Heavy
-Easy to get in, impossible to move up
-Women in leadership typically hold other women back or actively try to push them down
-Very few leaders who actually LEAD their people
-Maternity leave is a joke and your work-life balance is based solely on who you report to and your department. It's not agency-wide. Some might have great flexibility, others might be told to be in their desk from 8:30-5:30 no matter what.

    Advice to Management

Just let your people grow and develop and at least act like you care about it.
