Pros

The smartest people you know will be your coworkers. You’ll love what you do if you’re on the right team. Great place to start a family and have a flexible work/life balance. People aren’t fired. Your coworkers will become your family. Engineers get to choose the problems they work on.

Cons

Overall great place to work at but there are some obvious problems like with all companies. Here are some: Many projects go nowhere and leave you unfulfilled but that’s the price of inventing things. Sales people are valued more than the builders. Tech PMs aren’t always the best techies. There have been interns who can code circles around PMs. What you do is easily overlooked if you don’t have a good relationship with the right people. If you don’t complain about wanting more money, you’ll never get a raise.

Pros

Smart colleagues and hard challenges. You'll (generally) work on things that are very worthwhile projects that you'll feel good about putting your time/energy into. The best and worst part of AI is that you are largely left to your own devices. This means basically no red tape, but little of the positives of management and support (like proactive growth programs).

Cons

Weak developmental tracks and programs for people to grow. Your title will probably not reflect the breadth of what you actually do.
