I worked at Atmos Energy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I cannot say enough great things about my Atmos family! My actual date of leaving was in August of 2012 due to a surgery that almost killed me. Atmos Energy stood right beside me, visiting me during the almost year of being in the hospital, they stood by my family as well! When I started with this great organization in 2000, I was wowed by the rewards-great and small for just doing my job! Every team leader, supervisor, and manager at Atmos Energy truly cares about the employee and just as the award that I won in 2011 states: "Rising Spirit"! Atmos Energy truly exhibits this quality in providing superior, professional service to all of us, from our natural gas customers to our dedicated employees! Thank you for 11 terrific years Atmos!

    Cons

The only con I could think of is not being able to work with one of the best companies in the United States!

    Advice to Management

The management team is awesome! They always have time to visit with you-they would even walk past you at your desk and pat you on the back to just wave and make you feel like you were their only employee! Jamie and Ben--you are the backbone of our call center in Amarillo, thank you for everything you have done for all of us in customer support, even those of us that like myself, had to leave due to medical reasons. It has been my pleasure to work with you!

I worked at Atmos Energy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Nice people to work with, culture of promoting internally, encourages professional development opportunities outside of work. Health benefits are great. Pay is fair but not competitive. There is a checkbox need for affirmative action hires, so that is one way to get your foot in the door.

    Cons

Borderline discriminatory practices/policies at the local leadership levels. Authenticity, diversity of thought, and truth is not valued unless it fits into the hunting/fishing/sports culture. Innovation is not only not valued, but it is discouraged. Turnover is found primarily with the best and brightest employees which should be a red flag for intellectuals.

    Advice to Management

Succession planning is key. The company is a critical turning point and has the opportunity to make or break the long term future of the company. In the short term, the financial rate structures will keep the company not only afloat, but very successful. But there's always a "tipping point".

I have been working at Atmos Energy full-time

    Pros

Great salary and bonuses, perfect culture, great work schedule(flexible) and location, more than understanding staff.. No one is EVER negative.. Everyone is super nice. You can move in positions even if you don't have a degree in it(finance to marketing, hr to marketing, etc. ), pay for school, education, travel, conferences, and so much more educational opportunities. Everyone is highly educated and laid back

    Cons

Eat too much food and gained weight... but used the program that's paid for by Atmos to loose it

    Advice to Management

Great job hiring the nicest people in the entire country to work for this perfect formulated company
