Pros

If you enjoy an environment driven by negative reinforcement then this a great place for you to work.

Cons

Where do I start? You're not told about quota of numbers you have to meet in your interview. When you first start, everyone is friendly and nice and it seems fun. Well give it til about end of week 2 and its a nightmare. They harass you about meeting your quotas, by then you're so stressed out! They don't give you any encouragement about your effort, just what can you do to produce numbers. Their training is a joke and sets you up for failure because they throw you out there after. Then when you make mistakes they get mad because its just another roadblock for you not meeting your numbers. Remember-its all about your quota numbers in this place. I left before they fired me. Due to a meeting, they told me if I don't get numbers up I'm fired following week, and this was week 3 of training. So I would highly suggest never applying here. They set you up for failure.

Like all businesses, BackTrack has production and performance standards that are put in place to serve our clients. These goals are discussed and reviewed regularly with all employees. Our trainers, mentoring staff and managers provide consistent recognition and reinforcement throughout the training period and beyond. It’s unfortunate that our position was not a good fit for you. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

1). A paycheck, 2). Weekends off, 3). Choose your lunch break time (b/w 11 & 2).

Cons

Backtrack is interesting- they claim that their positions are "unique", they claim to provide "comprehensive" training and that they want all of their employees to succeed. Dont expect any of this. Here is what you can expect -negative reinforcement- be forewarned negative reinforcement is part of Bactracks culture. Training is designed for survival of the fittest - expect training to be inadequate- you shoulda known better is a key phrase that your trainer will use to get you off their backs and help you to feel incompetent. Expect to.frequently feel incompetent - this is part of their harassment based training and to a degree this is the most laughable part, because they claim they have comprehensive training, but they'll never explain what that entails to you.

Pros

The nice thing was working Monday through Friday 8:30 to 5 p.m. and you got weekends off.

Cons

There is very little training before they set you off on your own. I thought I would be doing real investigating but I was instead on the phone all day. They make the place sound great at first. Don't let them fool you. The catch is that it is very stressful. The high turnover rate should prove my point. You are on the phone all day, timed, tape recorded, and criticized, and in a fast paced environment. If you can't walk the walk and talk the talk they write it off as "oh well this job isn't for everyone. " Most of the time you have to call employers or references and a phone number is not even provided. Plus we were using slow Pentium 4 computers that froze up constantly. It's a joke. If you can't meet your quota per hour then it's your fault?! Ridiculous working environment. I felt like a robot!

BackTrack has 1/3 of our staff that have a tenure of over 10 years. Our managers have an average tenure of 15+ years. Those numbers don't reflect a turnover problem. Our staff seems to enjoy receiving a bonus for the last 2 years, every single quarter. Our investigators are under the training manager for 4 weeks which is unheard of in most entry level jobs. We are very appreciative of family, so that if anyone needs time off for illness or family issues, we work around it so that we our staff knows we are behind them. We understand that our employees drive our success!
