I have been working at Bancroft full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Bancroft is an amazing organization, with many, many good people dedicated to helping others. I am proud to be a longtime member of the staff, and have seen firsthand how much the leadership cares about its staff . The teamwork across the organization is very good, with staff happy to help each other whenever needed.

    Cons

The organization is large and spread out, so channels of communication sometimes don't reach intended recipients. Find ways to engage direct care staff in things that are meaningful to them.

    Advice to Management

Pay close attention to the feedback received in our staff engagement survey, which is just rolling out right now.

I have been working at Bancroft full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Bancroft's mission is second to none. There are many dedicated, compassionate people that work in every dept. Co-workers are willing to lend a hand, plenty of committees to get involved with and the opportunity to make a difference. If you want to go home with a warm heart every day, this is the place to be.

    Cons

Communication between management and staff about hierarchy, changes within depts.
    Fair pay.

    Advice to Management

    Communicate better through company email.

    Pros

Bancroft is willing to grow their employees. They offer many training incentives and make you feel as if there's an opportunity for career development. You're working for the betterment of society and making a difference in individuals lives. There's a great team camaraderie, and they really attempt to have all employees feel engaged.

    Cons

Annual cost of living adjustments are very insignificant compared to most organizations this size.
Policies and Procedures implemented by the executive team, inhibit the ability to get work done which ultimately effects the individuals.
They do not offer bonuses or incentives.

    Advice to Management

Adjust wages based on cost of living, and offer bonus incentives.

I worked at Bancroft full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some managers are very supportive and will go up to bat for you.
    Close connections with your co-workers.
    Good schedule
Tuition reimbursement for full time staff.

    Cons

No real room for growth with in the company, even after being there for over 6 years.
There is no loyalty with the company either. You'll see people who have been there for 20 years and get fired for no real reason.
Very Low paying raises but always adding onto staff responsibilities. You'll be very lucky to see 25 cents in year.

    Advice to Management

Start promoting more from with in the company, started watching out for favoritism. Offer better raises.

I worked at Bancroft full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great coworkers, entry level experience, negotiable pay, networking opportunities

    Cons

Turnover, lack of support, zero communication, refusal to give direct support the tools that they need to succeed, supervisors never on site, accrued PTO, needed to call in sick before 8pm the night before or face disciplinary action, use of PTO required 30 days notice, no one bothered to perform an exit interview when I gave my two weeks notice which makes me question the company's care of their extremely high turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Direct support needs to be overseen and given updated behavior plans to implement. Supervisors were seldom seen and frustrations between direct support staff and higher ups caused high rates of turnover. No cross training, no organization or communication. Respect and support those who are on the front lines because without them, Bancroft wouldn't exist.
