- 5.0FEATURED REVIEWMar 28, 2023Paid Search AssociateCurrent EmployeeDenver, CO
Pros
Awesome benefits. They are super trusting in their employees and offer FTO instead of PTO. The people who work here are all very hardworking and kind. The CEO is so awesome and makes time to have Q&A's, update the company and provide consistent transparency. It is evident this company cares a lot about their employees.
Cons
Sometimes getting a pay upgrade takes a while, and the workload is fairly hefty.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. I’m thrilled to hear you appreciate our awesome benefits, trust in our employees, and the hardworking and kind nature of our team. Employees are typically eligible for merit increases once a year (if performing well). Please let myself or leadership know if you have any questions around merit increases or balancing workloads. Your input is invaluable, and we truly care about your experience! (April Weeks, EVP Media Services & Operations)

Pros
Great benefits, great colleagues, fast paced environment with cutting-edge tech
Cons
Benefits would sometimes be shakey - tests of a 4 day workweek would be introduced with no idea if we would continue. Makes life planning a bit difficult. Left due to higher compensation offered that was not based around tiers.

Pros
Met smart and good people along the way
Cons
Basis is going downhill quickly and letting go nearly 10% of their workforce this year is very telling of that. Many of the employees terminated had been with Basis for 10+ years and were carelessly let go via a five minute phone call with a stranger from HR reading a statement telling them that Basis has suddenly decided they’re better off without them. The higher-ups treat their employees like pawns and I wonder how they sleep at night knowing how negatively they’ve impacted dedicated employees’ livelihoods. If Basis were actually transparent about their status in this recession and didn't put on such a front, perhaps they’d deserve a pinch of the respect and praise they so desperately crave. You’ll notice in several other reviews here mention there is a “honeymoon phase” when you’re new to Basis, but be warned that it’s not genuine and you are seen as extremely disposable, no matter your tenure or good work.

Pros
Great culture, interesting work, lots of flexibility (hybrid-first, unlimitted PTO, Flex Fridays, most bank holidays recognized), and a pretty transparent Exec team. Leaders genuinely care, try to do the right thing, and are open to feedback.
Cons
Can sometimes be an intense place to work and there are high volume of work expectations - not really a con, exactly just something to keep in mind.

Pros
Great people, solid commitment to diversity, incredible educational support, excellent benefits.
Cons
Execs can't quite decide how best to market the company.

Pros
The people were so nice and really made the job. Everyone was kind and got along very very well. The tasks of the job are incredibly easy. There was a ton of flexibility, especially being fully WFH. They offer unlimited PTO which is a huge perk as well.
Cons
The company has no process for reviews and performance meetings. This made it incredibly hard to tell how you are doing, how you can improve, and how to grow within the company. They also would say you were getting a promotion or raise and never follow through. I was told I would be receiving a raise after picking up the workload of a higher position but I worked for the same amount for 8 months with no raise or promotion. This position pays horribly. After experiencing things of this nature and other scenarios I began to feel that kindness was very superficial at this company. While everyone seemed very nice, after completely random company-wide lay-offs, not a single coworker reached out. My superiors who I would have previously said cared for my growth and did not say anything to me again. They also went about company restructuring in a very poor way. No one under the top executive board knew about the decision and no explanations were given as to why certain people were let go. This included executives who had put in 10 years with the company and were let go with no further contact or reasoning. They gave you 20 min to save your work and then shut down your employment.

Thank you for sharing your candid feedback about your experience with us. I truly value your perspective and insights. It's encouraging to hear that you found the people you worked with to be kind and enjoyed a supportive team atmosphere. I also appreciate your recognition of the flexibility and unlimited PTO. I’m surprised to hear about your concern with the lack of a structured review process as Basis has formal performance reviews and conversations biannually. Your feedback highlights areas where we need to improve our communication and I apologize for any frustration this may have caused. Regarding our revenue department restructure earlier this year, we acknowledge that a big change like that can be painful and challenging, and leadership tried to make decisions that were respectful to everyone and their contributions to Basis. I’m sorry if it felt anything less to you. Your experiences are important to us, and we are committed to assessing the areas you've highlighted. Thank you again for your feedback. Pros
Basis has provided endless opportunities to add value, be part of something I believe in and am excited about. It’s hard work, and am proud of everything I’ve accomplished. Best part is that I’ve become a better person all around.
Cons
I believe everyone is trying to make Basis a place we enjoy and will succeed. There are road-bumps, but it would be boring otherwise.
