    I worked at Belmark part-time

    Pros

The managers and CEO know and care who you are. Plenty of overtime opportunities. Senior shipping techs are very experienced and very helpful training. Paid lunch break. Reimburse your purchase of steel toe shoes. Occasionally bring in catering company to feed all employees. Provided your own radio.

    Cons

Mandatory overtime/working Saturday can be issued, but is uncommon.

    Advice to Management

    Provide better coffee.

I have been working at Belmark full-time

    Pros

    They pay you. That's all.

    Cons

Management staff is anyone who fits in with the good ol' boys club. They have to be completely incompetent, unethical, willing to lie, and avoid all responsibility. Sales people are rewarded for being snakes and are given free range to verbally abuse and harass support staff if their needs are not immediately met. As long as they can sell - they do what they want and are above any rules. Ethical sales people who treat people with respect are pushed to the back burner so that the high maintenance jerks can get their needs met first.

Belmark continues to lose incredible employees - basically anyone with integrity and morals - because of their terrible business practices. They work people to the bone, give little positive feedback, and never have their backs on anything. They will continue to lose people as long as they operate the way that they do.

They brag about their growth and their technology, and they can build shiny new buildings. But, no matter how much you shine it, a turd is still a turd.

    Advice to Management

Read your mission statement. Try to abide by it.

I have been working at Belmark full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Hard to chose a "pro"

    Cons

Don't be fooled by all of the glowing reviews posted by management on this site. Belmark's "family" orientation only is applicable to you if you are part of the right family. The owners family, or a few that have been around for several years.

Their main principles of "open and honest" communication are not even followed by their management teams. When employees go to their managers with open and honest communication and feedback, or simply need help from their manager, often nothing is done, people causing the problem are rewarded and you are continually treated poorly.

I have seen managers who boast Belmark's room for growth, and opportunity purposely sabotage their employee's inter-company interview.

Go to HR with a harassment issue, they won't do anything about it. They'll count on the manager who is harassing you to take action.

Managers will love you if you stay under the radar, are not good at your job, cause tons of drama, and come to work and gossip. But if you come to work, do your job, and avoid gossip, you will be treated poorly, and like an outsider.

Often you're told "you need to do what you need to do to take care of the customer's" however the action you're expected to make is blatantly going against their principle of "taking care of others, and doing what is right"

I would not recommend this company to anyone, I wish I hadn't wasted my last four years working here where I've been continually harassed, and treated poorly.

Company boasts that "you'll never find a company more flexible than Belmark" but you'll get written up for being in at 8:02 for your desk job. Never mind the fact that you always stay late and work thru your lunch, 8:02 for your 8:00am start time is still completely unacceptable.

I have been working at Belmark full-time

    Pros

Good benefits with decent pay, company does a lot for employees, flexible, family orientated

    Cons

Lack in career development for the future, sure you can try to move around in positions which can be difficult I've heard but where will this carry over in the future?

    I worked at Belmark full-time

    Pros

Benefits are OK and automatic deposit

    Cons

When you speak up about a problem you get shot down. They are SQF qualified but the suppliers are not. Raccoon prints were found on a roll of paper and was brought up to management and nothing was done to insure that it does not happen again. This is a carton that food goes into it. It will catch up to them soon.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what your doing and things will slam down on you soon.

I have been working at Belmark full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get great benefits. The company as a whole has great opportunity to grow more than it already is. You can move up in the company but depending on your supervisor it can be difficult. There is a lot of overtime and you can basically choose to work more hours if you want.

    Cons

Supervisors definitely have their favorites, don't get on their bad side. A lot of overtime can be bad if you would like a life outside of work.

    Advice to Management

Needs to be a little more family friendly in the stance of family life. Also watch the people that don't have much productivity.
