Pros
Working in Boston at once-great publication.
Cons
All staffing decisions made by CFO. Culture that rewards sucking up and does not acknowledge quality work.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookNo opinion of CEOI have been working at Boston Herald full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
Name recognition in the marketplace. Many nice teammates.
Cons
Micromanaged by the old boys network. New management in past year running this paper into ground. worked at same place for years together before coming here and they ran that paper into the ground too! Parent company clueless about crazy toxic environment. Berate employees in public regularly. Clients dropping like flies. Terrible benefits and low pay.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Boston Herald full-time for more than a year
Pros
The manager was a really great guy. I didn't see him often but he checked in with me and he really cared. I enjoyed some of my co-workers a lot. I thought they were great and friendly people. For the most part, you've left alone to do whatever you need to do during your shift.
Cons
The work can be a bit boring. Barring a breaking news story, it's putting the same things up routinely every night. There wasn't really any time to write which I missed. I also worked a tough shift of 7pm-3am which was eventually too much for me.
