      Avoid if you want a job as an SDR/BDR with clear path to promotion

      Pros

      Old BDR manager was great. He is no longer with company

      Cons

      CMO runs the BDR team and micromanages their activity. Most reps are put on PIP at some point during their tenure. Every BDR I started with has left the company in search of roles with clear paths to promotion. Botkeeper is a SAS company that refuses to operate like one.

      Great place to work with excellent remote onboarding

      Pros

      - Easy onboarding; I got my 16" MBP 2 weeks before I started and setup with Botkeeper systems was a breeze - Fun team culture, everyone works very closely together - Good remote start experience; webcams frequently on from team members and everyone willing to set 30 minutes aside to get to know you outside of just the day to day - Clear expectations of what I needed to do / what was expected of me - Enjoy using 15Five to stay on top of my goals and keep my Manager updated on what is going on in my day to day - No micromanagement; I'm empowered to do things the way that makes the most sense to me and my team - Great learning experience - Respectful of time off - Really diverse environment that is super open and supportive - Very fair compensation package

      Cons

      - Typical busy startup with a lot going on; lots of work to do - Can be very fast paced - sometimes eats into Work/Life balance but typically pretty good - Have to be able to operate with a certain level of uncertainty / Not always going to feel like what you did was "perfect" - Very remote workforce with Engineering / Product located in different areas. Will make it hard to colocate at any point in the future.

      Fantastic Opportunity - Lackluster Management

      Pros

      This company provides a great service in the bookkeeping industry, using artificial intelligence and machine learning to streamline bookkeeping tasks. - The interview process was thorough, but not overly extensive. - Great opportunities for remote employees. - Salary in line with the role, responsibilities, and level of experience. - Solid benefits and unlimited PTO

      Cons

      - At times, management seemed disorganized. - Authority is given to management based on seniority, not experience or level of knowledge. - Lack of direction, specifically within the marketing department. During my tenure at Botkeeper, management was chaotic and lacked leadership. Company insight or direction desired by executives was never clearly passed along by management and it was often expected that a new hire should "just know". Management often seemed lost and overwhelmed and offered very little direction or insight; making the job very difficult to succeed in. Too often was management quick to brush off communication and opportunities to mentor because of being "busy" or obvious lack of knowledge.
