    Pros

In my opinion it is the best Auto Parts Store on the West Coast. Pleasant place to work with a Average Salary for the job entailed. Upper Management helped with problems that went above store level.

    Cons

You get these rude customers sometimes that blame you that their car broke down for a part you sold them. But in reality it was their fault because they installed it improperly. If you can put up with that then this job is for you.

    Advice to Management

The Pay is just below par compared with other like management jobs. Bring up the salaries and give the Store management a bit more power with handling the employees.

Current Employee - Store Manager in Denver, CO

    Pros

Parts discounts, training program, medical benifits are very good

    Cons

Schedules arnt very personal life friendly. Store managers always work Saturdays, and never have two days off in a row

    Advice to Management

get some work life balance, yes its retail but come on who can do anything with just one day off

    Pros

Get 20% discount. Benifits are okay- eye, dental, life and dissabilty insurance offered. Hours can be good for those still in school if willing to work nights and weekends. Holiday pay = 1 1/2 (due to o'reilly's)

    Cons

Price of benifits little high, like co-pays. Those who do best are store mangers and above. Most shifts include nights and weekends and holidays. Maintance is done by employ's. Very close to Autozone. Employ's will feel that the company could care less about them

    Advice to Management

Be ready to do things that do not make any sense. This company is very number oriented! As o'rilleys takes over more this is becoming more of an issue.

    Pros

It can be a stable job. A place with potential to start in the business and grow from there.

    Cons

Upper and Middle management tend to be dishonest to the point of actually being criminal, in denial of major issues facing the company, incompetent or some combination of these three. Pressure in some stores to apply for undesired promotions- many open management positions open when I was there.

    Advice to Management

Heard O'Reilly bought CSK. If true, they need to fire the CSK leadership and they should be able to do well with a lot of their better store level people.

  10. "The place of no advancement...."

    Pros

If your really wanting to start out in an aftermarket part sales position CSK can be a good START, but if you are expecting advancement or raises do not hold your breath. Some stores can be really well staffed with smart workers. Flexible scheduling of hours.

    Cons

The upper management has no clue how to correctly run a business. A lot of the store managers have simply attained the position through the buddy system, instead of being promoted based on merit. This leads to problems all the way down the chain of command. They are also very sexist in that they will look down on hiring a female in this field of work.

    Advice to Management

Get some college educated people in the stores that understand how to motivate their workers with something other than threats. Your company seems to thrive on this way of motivating it employees.
Maybe this has to do with the poor stock performance the company had....even at the brink of bankruptcy before O'Reilly came in to save the company. Unhappy workers= less sales.....
