    I worked at Cabot full-time

    Pros

Great pay, decent benefits, pleasant people. Management seems to care a lot about the product and impact. 401k benefit is really good.

    Cons

Culture is a throwback to a by-gone era. Business casual keeps it from feeling truly archaic, but the culture is a bit stiff and slow moving. Processes that have been around for a while are followed because they've always been done that way, and projects that would have been set into motion and completed in a few months at other companies take up to 2 years to get approved and put in place even when they don't affect other parts of the company.

Also, they celebrate tenure in the company which is fine, but they choose seniority over skills when considering someone for a role which is a turn off for highly skilled younger talent. The career growth is slow as it is, but having people hit their peak and then hold onto those jobs so that newer talent can't get experience is disheartening.

    Advice to Management

Realize that your white-collar workers can and should be able to work from home more often than a intense blizzard.

"We value our customers and stand by safety-quality-and then production - in that order"

I have been working at Cabot full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I have read some recent reviews on this website that I disagree with strongly. Cabot is a company of very high integrity. We value our customers and ship high quality product, in fact, if we are unsure then we wont send the product. I lead a sales organization and can say for sure that we make sure we have the customers best interests in mind. Great care is taken in ensuring that our customers will be successful. We value customer needs and seek to find ways to continue to add value and differentiate ourselves. Cabot is seeking to grow into new high value spaces, and this is adding opportunities across the organization, in R&D from CASE to energy storage, in sales across the world, in marketing - where we have several open positions for the right talent. Come join an exciting team with a supportive structure and good benefits.

    Cons

Obviously, we need to do more to make sure that all of our employees understand the efforts we take to make sure that our customers are served well. I see Cabot as leading in this area, and some of our competitors are doing the bare minimum. We have a great reputation across our customers. We need to make sure that we continue to expose our employees to customers to hear their voices and understand market needs, so that we can be best positioned to innovate.

    Advice to Management

Let's continue to invest for growth following our cash reinvestment strategy, let's seek to find new acceleration pathways and ignite our employees.

Great employees and supervisors to work for. Engineers listen to operator inputs to make jobs run safer and produce production to highest standards. Excellent salary.

    Cons

Safety is not first as stated by the company

    Advice to Management

Listen to employee complaints about safety and work closely to improve it.

    Pros

It is very Flexible. You can work from home. So no need to use sick days. I really appreciate this about Cabot

    Cons

Gossip atmosphere. If someone is not reacting or acting others the way others think they should act, people act dry with you and try to come up with reasons for you not to excel.

    Advice to Management

Nepotism with people who have been there longer than others. Make those who haven't been there 10+ years have no voice
