There are none I can think of.

I worked at Cetera Financial Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Casual work atmosphere
    Great downtown location
Plenty of communications from CEO / President
    Generally a positive atmosphere

    Cons

While the CEO is AWESOME - some of the other chief officers are not so much.
Lots of convos behind closed doors at the management level.
    Medical insurance is crap.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with your employees - not just the monthly call. Make sure ALL chief officers are communicating to their WHOLE team, not just expecting it to trickle down through managers. Especially during times of restructuring.

I worked at Cetera Financial Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Great work experience in the financial industry.
-The people you work with are amazing.

    Cons

-Constant overtime (not good for people who value family time and school)
-There is no set procedure and structure. You have to go with the flow and hope someone would say something.
    -Management is dysfunctional.
-There is phone work, even though most people have been told in interviews that there is no phone work (unless you are in a phone department)
-No growth opportunity or promotions (lateral moves).

    Advice to Management

HR management and management has failed to realize that people have lives. If you have a concern with management and report to hr, they will disregard your feelings and won't help the situation get better. While they say they don't retaliate, there has been a couple situation where people got fired or quit on spot because management and HR failed them address employee's concern internally with other managers. HR and management simply do not fix the problem but just remove it entirely like it doesn't exist. Best advice I can give to anybody who wants to work here is mind your business and trust no one. Change is not invited in this company's culture.

I have been working at Cetera Financial Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great position for someone who is just out of college or only has a few years of financial experience under their belt. Friendly supervisors. Decent performance based bonus every year.

    Cons

Not a lot of growth opportunities.
    Horrible training.

    Advice to Management

Invest in a training department dedicated to new hires. You use your employees and supervisors to train when their workload is already maxed out, it doesn't give them very much time to dedicate to your new employees.

I have been working at Cetera Financial Group full-time

    Pros

People are nice. Building activities are fun to escape the reality of this industry

    Cons

HR is not very responsive. There is no consistency in training. There is actually virtually none. It's a learn as you go. No structure. It's kind of clique-y. You ask for help but feel like you are getting talked down to because the work is constantly changing so you have to keep asking questions to understand it.
