Pros

The office is very chic.

Cons

The first few months at ChicExecs seemed amazing however things quickly declined. From department to department the company polices vary meaning that the rules only apply to some employees and not all. Exceeding an 8 hour work day is normal and expected. The internship program has declined rapidly. While the company prides themselves in having one of the "best company cultures", they certainly do not. Not to mention, management never asks employees for feedback or suggestions. After receiving recognition in a major publication, the company perks were slowly stripped away such as having a stocked snack bar, any kind of company lunches, tv during lunch hour, etc. Common qualities or values like integrity and mutual respect are not upheld. The communication within the company is a joke- HR is extremely unresponsive. Having a suggestion or sharing new ideas was never encouraged or taken seriously. Additionally, employees concerns or suggestions are never taken seriously either. This company cut corners to get the job done and with extremely poor leadership and execution. Some leadership has very little experience and it shows. And the snack bar is maybe stocked 3 times a year? Last time they stocked it was before Christmas. 0/10, would not recommend this company to any growing professional or for an internship.

Pros

Some of the Senior Account Executives are good leaders and offer to mentor you to help your career. Many of them are former "newsies" so they are well versed in the PR world, and well connected in San Diego.

Cons

Extremely low pay, no benefits. No PTO. Favorites are chosen early on, and if you are a mom you get special privileges. (i.e. work from home, set your own hours, etc) They do not value their employees, in their eyes everyone is disposable. It seems like they enjoy hiring very young women (right out of college) and making the agency seem amazing, while not even offering a living wage. The CEO's are all about the $$'s, sometimes this can compromise business ethics throughout the company.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your thoughts. This is the owners/co-CEOs and since you are a current employee, we would love to spend time with you in person to hear more from you. We value all of our employees and welcome any and all feedback. In regards to no benefits, we actually offer health benefits and pay a significant amount of the key package so are unsure which benefits you are referring to. In regards to PTO -- we offer sick days, paid vacation days, paid holidays which includes 2 weeks work remote during Christmas/New Years. We also offer in office hours of 8am-4pm M-Thursday which is shorter than most other companies as well as work remote on Fridays for all. Several of our employees started with us as interns were promoted to coordinators and all the way up to Senior Account Executives. Once our employees work hard to prove themselves, they are promoted and paid above average in the PR industry. We have researched and have made sure this is the case! As far as work remote employees, those include sales people who are traveling and on the road as well as PR professionals who have over 10 years experience and are on the road doing on-air segments. It has nothing to do with being a mom and some who work remote are not moms and some people who work in the office are moms (including one of the founders). Ethics and morals are extremely important to us so we would love to hear more from you on what you are referring to or what you may have heard that is inaccurate. This Christmas, we donated 10% of all proceeds to purchase a house in Haiti for underprivileged children. We also gave each staff member a gift card to a grocery store to purchase food for the San Diego Food Bank. We also supported a local non-profit woman's entrepreneur event. And this was only in December this year, not including the rest of the year. Giving back is very important to us and we set those measures in place so are unsure where you have come to the conclusions that you did. We would love to hear directly from you and welcome you to come speak with us anytime. Thank you.

Pros

-Remote work and some truly amazing women at this company -Good place to begin your career but not long term (don't stay longer than a year) as there is no room for growth and the pay is horrible

Cons

In my opinion: -No room for growth in this company, though they promise that in the beginning when you are in the interview process -EXTREMELY low pay which makes us feel like management does not care at all. No raises or real promotions ($1 an hour raise after a year is not a real raise!!) -Pointless weekly meetings with managers that don't help us at all -Everyone is stressed out and over worked -Lack of diversity -Hopeless environment
