Pros

The company has an impressive client base and in spite of its many shortcomings, manages to have a solid reputation in the industry. You'll get to work with some nice and empathetic people. There are very few outright jerks or completely incompetent deadweights.

Cons

A vicious cycle of high turnover -> overworked employees -> low morale -> more turnover. Attrition is the #1 problem of the firm. Unclear and ineffective org structure that changes constantly Incoherent strategy and lack of transparency; important decisions are made in a black box (for example, consultants of every kind come in and out with little explanation) Little to no onboarding or training for new employees Internal operations are a dumpster fire: the file system is atrocious, and there are few standard operating procedures to be found anywhere Services are becoming commodified, so long-term business prospects are grim

Amazing Talent Held Back

Pros

CodeGreen is made up of a diverse team of incredibly bright and talented people. You will work on interesting and challenging projects, and you will feel proud of the work you accomplish.

Cons

Unfortunately leadership is the Achilles’ heel of an otherwise successful firm. As you go up the chain of command, management appears to know less and less of what they are doing, and are riddled with insecurity issues. Concerns brought forth from team members will be met with patronizing rebuttals and claims that you don’t have the full understanding of the firm that management does. During the times they appear to be listening to feedback, no changes will come to fruition, as their “initiatives” are often empty claims with nothing to substantiate their efforts. It’s during these moments that you will realize that management is held to a lower level of accountability than the rest of the firm. Poor decisions are often swept under the rug and unmet goals are almost always attributed to being out of their hands. The team at CodeGreen genuinely cares about the success of the firm, and many will put in the effort to make a difference. Unfortunately poor leadership is often enough to drive them away, and has resulted in incredibly high turnover.

Pros

Highly in demand work due to local regulations/growing industry Nice and supportive people, including management High profile real estate clients Good place to build up skills for a few years

Cons

Upper management is very indecisive and doesn't understand what the company/staff needs. There's also a lack of execution at the management level Directors are constantly hired and fired Low salaries, no equity, and really poor benefits in NYC make CodeGreen a place where no one can/should stay long term
