Great Place To Work For Those Looking To Begin A Career In Media

-Lots of freedom in terms of content produced -One day you could be writing about sports and the next you could be covering breaking news, so every day is different and exciting -Great internship program for people that want to get a feel for what writing is like as a career -Lots of collective brainstorming to come up with ideas on how to help the company grow

Cons

-Like with every media company, sometimes you are asked to cover stories you may not be interested in, but that certainly comes with the territory.

Lots of internship opportunities to actually have published work on a website.

Cons

Like many digital media jobs, pay is abhorrent, especially for NYC. And benefits? Barely. No opportunity for growth -- after editor, the next jump would be owning the entire place. Try for cheap clicks rather than interesting stories that might actually grow an audience. No one values basic standards like proper grammar, spelling, FACTS, etc. Which is ridiculous for a "media company." Honestly, I'm surprised they haven't just called it quits by now. Wait for a better opportunity.
