I have been working at Colonial Management Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Upward mobility. There is a chance of moving up in the company. This company will not cheat you. Although money comes first it really wants to be part of the solution to opiate addiction. Clinics can be pleasant places to work depending on the Program Director. The pay is fair.

    Cons

Top heavy organizational chart. The clinic Program Directors cannot make simple decisions without getting approval from Regional and Zone Directors. There too much micromanagement and hinders creativity on the clinic level.

    Advice to Management

    Try more subsidiarity

I worked at Colonial Management Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

A lot of well meaning, clinical talent has cycled through CMG facilities.

    Cons

Methadone Maintenance Treatment/Suboxone Treatment/Medication Maintenance, Treatment/Opioid Treatment Program, regardless of how it's packaged,
the company's goal is "growth and retention", under the guise of Harm Reduction. If you can survive in this level of care, you can survive any level. This is the bottom of the rabbit hole.

    Advice to Management

Grow and retain your business in an ethical manner. There are patients who are not appropriate for your level of treatment who need to be referred to higher levels of care, who pose a health and safety risk. Despite the data that long-term treatment yields the best results, not every patient wants to be on Methadone/Subutex/Suboxone for life and would like an exit plan. Don't be afraid to show them how they can detox and seek additional treatment.
The majority of the toxic management has been weeded out, however, a heavy handed, fear-based management style persists.

    Pros

The clients are, for the most part, trying hard to change their lives and break their patterns of addiction. It has been so inspiring to work with them.

    Cons

Very poor, extremely unprofessional management. Minimal professional respect.

    Pros

Dedicated employees, patients are mostly a pleasure to work with. Good job for early birds as the day runs from 5AM -2PM.

    Cons

Corporate is clearly out of touch with the real world. The software is dismal and redundant and has caused us to lose good employees. Salaries are low, and unfortunately, often you get what you pay for.

    Advice to Management

Raise the salaries and actually listen to the locals, instead of paying lip service and then ignoring those who are in the trenches.

Awesome coworkers except for 2 rude ones

    Cons

The hours are rough! So early

    Advice to Management

Stagger start times for employees. Fill the gap with admin tasks

    Pros

Great benefits, hours are great if you need afternoons & evenings free. Lots of training provided. Staff at the Leon county location is very supportive and works well together as a team.

    Cons

Sometimes difficult clientele, but not any more that other addiction treatment providers. the support from company headquarters is not always felt at individual clinic locations. High staff turnover is exhausting.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on staff retention and quality patient care,

    Cons

Mid level management is ineffective and not supportive of lower level staff

    Advice to Management

    Mid level management needs improvement

I worked at Colonial Management Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The need for treatment for those people with Opiate addiction is greater now than ever before. The company concept is fabulous but they have no clue.

    Cons

Communication is nonexistent. Everyone operates in silos with their own personal agenda that is not patient focused. High stress work environment with no support. Continuously looking to throw employees under the bus. Definitely a
"gotcha culture." Absolutely NO teamwork! Trying to use your benefits was ridiculous! It was embarrassing at times.

    Advice to Management

Get on the same page. It is hard to move forward when everyone is going in a different direction. If numbers are what you want then don't be afraid to say it. HR leadership is deplorable! Not sure how it has gone on this long. You will continue to get what you give no matter how much you want to change direction.

I worked at Colonial Management Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Florida beaches are the best

    Cons

Everything about this company is horrible from the HR department to the clinical staff. HR changes their policies and procedures daily because no one understands the Federal and State Regulation. This company lacks professionalism, honesty, and integrity which is why they changed the company's name to " New Seasons" due to the negativity surrounding this company. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This company does not have a clue or a care about the patients only the money they collect from these patients.

    Advice to Management

Do yourself a favor and fire the entire "Senior" management team ( RM, ZD, HR). They are all unprofessional. The CEO and VP of Finance can stay as I truly believe they are sincere in their efforts.
