I have been working at Continental Datagraphics full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Work life balance, great benefits, great 401K matching, has ping pong table, great learning experience with exposure to various boeing design processes from planning to releasing of designed engineering parts and drawings.

    Cons

Not much room for individual growth, fixed annual raised doesn't matter whether you a top performer or lazy worker, the raise is the same.

    Advice to Management

Need to have more open discussion more with employees
The company need to invest more money to train engineers on real engineer analysis skills like finite element analysis, stress analysis, thermal analysis, etc. in order to expand engineering portfolio

I have been working at Continental Datagraphics full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good Benefits and 401K Plan
    Flexible work schedule
Great balance between work and home life
    Friendly work environment
Great starter job for college students

    Cons

Management lacks professionalism and common sense. Salaried employees are micro managed as hourly employees (office closing for the holidays and employees are expected to use vacation time or take unpaid day offs). Work is bottom of the barrel type engineering work proving to be boring to an experienced engineer. There isn't a clearly defined progress plan for career growth within the company. Current manager is ill equipped to manage the existing team. Manager makes poor decisions in taking on new work statements due to lack of experience which puts the team at risk for failure. Favoritism is exhibited in how employees are handled (working from home, promotions, preferential treatment). Push for growth in team in India is a priority over growth in U.S. positions.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees like children. Company will continue to lose talent if management does not take staff concerns seriously. Create a clearly defined career growth plan for existing staff before taking on new employees. Level set the work load with accurate compensation. Current work assignments paired with employees salaries does not make sense at the moment. Some higher level employees are working projects of lesser difficulty than those being worked by level 1 and 2 engineers.

    Pros

The work is mundane and they don't care if it is accurate. They figure it takes 3 years for the customer to notice a mistake if at all. If you need a job to get you by until the right one comes along, go for it.

    Cons

It is like working in a sweatshop but with air-conditioning. You have no control over what you work on or who checks it or when it is checked before it is signed off. Unfortunately, you are graded on how long it takes them to do their work and whether their checking is correct or not. They say they want improvement suggestions but nothing will be done with them and it irritates management if you make take them serious.

    Advice to Management

Hire some managers who have experience at other companies so they will be better at realizing what things need to be improved.

    Pros

The people are nice. The work is easy. The benefits are good. The work environment is very casual.

    Cons

There is no possibility for career growth. The work is boring. Skills do not transfer to other companies well. No opportunities to move up. Management falsifies metrics to force out production. I stressed out a lot outside of work due to this.
