Pros

The people. I met some of the nicest, most genuine, caring people during my tenure here. Also, if you like an easy job, one that is mentally un-stimulating and will allow you decent work life balance, then by all means come here. Type A's need not apply.

Cons

Dart is a dinosaur in a dying industry, its fear of making a mistake paralyzing its ability and willingness to innovate. Slow to adapt to change, and even slower to consider feedback from the people in the field. There are many high level executives in this company that have been around a long time, and feel the need to undermine the initiatives of those in the field and their customers in order to push their own agendas and satisfy their own egos. The company is struggling to compete against the growing number of imports and sustainable startups entering the market, and is being ravaged by the numerous foam bans taking place across the country. Going back to early 2019, the company has announced cutbacks after cutbacks, each one rolled out poorer than the last. Expense cutbacks, pulling out of select markets, cutbacks on perks, new salary bands, layoffs, etc. The way these have all been handled remind me of a rudderless ship adrift at sea or a drowning man without a life preserver, flailing. Dart says it is a meritocracy. It absolutely is not. You are paid based on how long you've occupied a chair, regardless of your contribution to the top line or bottom line. “The nail that sticks out gets hammered down” is applicable here. Remember, Dart's been doing this a long time, so your opinion and experience are not needed. Just do as the company says at all times and you will be rewarded. Don't ask questions as to why or how things are done the way they are. One thing I never had to worry about in previous years of working for Dart was wondering whether or not the company would stand by doing the right thing. That changed in early 2019. Getting paid a competitive salary is like pushing a 200 ton boulder up a hill. It's not going to happen here, you will have to go elsewhere for employment. When you even hint that you may do so, you are dead to them. They will clean your desk out the same day, tell you to pack your bags and be gone, regardless of how many years of service you have. And a new 'policy', the company is now withholding bonuses from people who worked a full calendar year, contributed to the organization and met their annual goals but leave before the exact bonus payout date. But, should you expect anything less from them at this point? My advice, sit back and collect a paycheck until your bonus clears, then bolt. I left before the layoffs started happening because the writing was on the wall for a couple years. I turned down a few solid job offers hoping this place would change and find its way, but it was not to be. This was once a great place to work and build a career. Not any longer. I would not be surprised if this company is sold off or goes public within the next 2-3 years. Truly sad to see.

Pros

Benefits, Dart Tribute Garden, Personal business time, I dont have any more to say, compensation?

Cons

Racism all throughout that is ignored, They reward loyalty vs hard work, Overworked/underpaid, wasn't ready for SAP integration, nepotism, sales reps/sales/customers suffer. SAP Integration hurt the sales, however cs management was not encouraged to do anything to get the customers their product. so glad I got out of this place -- I had to go to counseling while employed here due to racism, pressure and stress created from this job.

Pros

Facilities. Health Insurance. 6% 401(k) match. Hybrid Schedule.

Cons

This company is a sinking ship. Profitability has been declining steadily YOY for key substrates. This company is not competitive in the market. I know they tried to say it is because of imports but I can promise you that is not true. They are not competitive with domestic or foreign competition. There is ZERO confidence within the corporate staff that significant gains will be made to improve profitability. More and more state and local Govs are implementing EPS/PS bans which is a major problem because these are the only substrates that make the company money. Senior leadership feels this pressure and because of this, they have created a culture of finger pointing and playing the blame game. No sense of accountability from leadership. Instead, they will lay off employees and push the workload onto another employee. There is little to no training, most people stay in their silos just focused on saving their own skin. If I had to guess, they will cut their losses and sell off their assets within the next 5 years. Would not recommend entertaining this company. They are an unserious company who rested on their laurels, hiked up prices during Covid, and are now paying the consequences of bad leadership, as a result, good and honest workers get the axe.
