Pros

DataDial has been providing online marketing services since 1998 so has had the chance to build up a large roster of clients. From day one you will have a varies role that involves interacting with clients, coming up with solutions whilst being doing the proposed work.

Cons

You would expect a web development company that has been around for almost 20 years to have a solid workflow from the moment a client walks through the door, to project sign-off - don't be fooled... DataDial has no internal process for handling clients, project management or web development. Project timelines are agreed without the scope of work being defined, so every teams projects are late. Expect to regularly work nights and weekends, or on-holiday (I am not joking).. you will not be paid extra for overtime, and nobody will thank you for delivering a 3 month project in 6 weeks. On-top of this poor work life balance, DataDial offers little room for personal progression - if you want to go on a training course, you must pay for it yourself and attempt to book holiday to attend. Computers / software in the office are dated, I ended up buying my own software and computer. DataDial has no annual bonus scheme, No employee benefits, No work socials and only 20 days holiday. The company has a huge weakness where it's trade secrets are locked in a few key staff, whom if were to leave - the company would sink. These staff know and take advantage of their position.

Yes it's true we have been around for 20 years and there are not many web design companies who can say that. I believe this employee only stayed for 8 months and although he showed promise a lot of his work had to be redone after he left by some of the old timers who he readily dismisses. Admittedly the project in question was a complex needed experienced hands to bring it back round. We did probably leave him too much in charge of it without correct supervision.

Pros

Relaxed environment, some nice people in the office.

Cons

Contract stats flexible working hours but you’ll be made to feel you are wrong for asking. Pay seems to be hit and miss every months for an actual pay date. If you have direct debits this will mean you will pay the charges. MD thinks it’s ok to use your salary as leverage if you are late with your deadlines. There are NO company perks and you’ll sit in a dated office with old hardware in silence all day. Work drinks do happen twice a year but be expected to buy your own drinks. Clientele is low budget and management is holding the company back from getting high budget brands on board. Lack of communication around the office between team menebers meaning you are expected to deliver the day they tell you. You MIGHT receive the companies commission scheme if you’ve been there a few years, but this will be instead of a payrise. Staff turn over is mix and match. Older members seem to stay while young ambitious staff members leave pretty quickly. You’ll be told not to waste coffee while they do not even offer water unless it’s from the kitchen tap. And expect to be receiving emails from the MD at 11pm on a Sunday night.

If this was all true I wonder why the employee worked for more than 3 years at Datadial. During this time there was an excellent relationship which then soured in the last 3 months owing to external pressures on the employee which were transferred to the workplace. It was a great shame.

Pros

None. I didn’t enjoy my time here.

Cons

Not a great team to work for. Did not enjoy my experience here and I was nearly here for over two years . Not many people in the office, very bad pay. There PR team was all Asian. They had a high turnover as everyone was leaving and no one wanted to be there. Shocked they didn’t have Apple Macs, very budget office. No real benefits, no real team, boring office I don’t recommend. Pays in cheques, also restricts payment if tasks haven’t been done on time.
