Blitz isn’t perfect, but we continue to work hard to be a great place to work, that also does great work. And to be a place where we speak to / about each other with respect. Rather than rage reviewing a strong female leader online (anonymously of course), I recommend communicating with us directly any time (assuming that you really are a 'current employee') using the many channels available to you at Blitz to do so. We want you to be happy! I'd encourage you to speak with us to develop a solution. Seth Hanley, Partner at Blitz.

Pros

— Projects have the opportunity to be good until... Mostly, if not all TI work. — Non-management staff is cool. — LA Studio Manager is friendly.

Cons

— The central managing partner tends to be overly controlling and excessively involved in daily operations. — The growth of leadership is hindered by the dominant managing partner. — The portfolio lacks diversification and may be challenging to modify. _____ — Teams are small and experience fluctuating workloads, with periods of intense work followed by dry spells. — Projects frequently exceed their budgets due to impractical proposals. — The current design model is ineffective. — Insufficient time is allocated for project tasks. — Overlapping deadlines prevent designers from achieving optimal creativity. — Designers frequently work excessively long hours, often 16-20 hours a day for extended periods. — While management acknowledges issues, they provide no viable solutions. — Staff members are considered replaceable. — There is a high concentration of leaders, yet all decisions originate from a central authority. _____ The office is situated in an unfavorable area of Culver City.

At Blitz we place equal importance on interior design and architecture, environmental and experience design, furniture design, and building architecture. We believe that a holistic design response considers human experience first. This approach yields better outcomes in our opinion. We also avoid piety, preferring to view design as being for everyone. We constantly evaluate our processes and deliverables to improve efficiency and increase design time. The hard work of our incredibly talented colleagues at Blitz speaks for itself. New readers can check out our portfolio here www.studioblitz.com Blitz is proud to be 55% women, with a majority female leadership. Opportunities are offered equally, as are high paying salaries, and we voluntarily ‘level-up’ to ensure pay equity. In addition, our excellent benefits package includes health (Blue Shield or Kaiser), dental, vision; a 401-k with a 4% employer match; 3 weeks PTO plus the week between December 24th and January 2nd; an annual performance bonus; and continuing education opportunities. We support professional advancement! We pay for successfully completed tests on the road to licensure or certification, and award automatic pay increases upon NCIDQ certification, or licensure as an architect. We also offer alternate work schedules, so if you value a 2.5, or 3 day weekend we can make that happen for you. In addition, we adhere closely to a 40 hour week, with managers focused on monitoring work loads and schedules in promotion of work life balance. As with all design schedules there are peaks and troughs, but our professional teammates manage their time and deliverables accordingly. FYI, Blitz team members DO NOT work 16-20 hour days ever! Any manager that knowingly allowed that to happen wouldn't make it at Blitz. Blitz isn’t perfect, but we continue to work hard to be a great place to work, that also does great work! P.S. We love our Culver City location, with it's dedicated outdoor space, free parking, and proximity to great lunch spots. We take the safety of our colleagues very seriously with secure space access, exterior lighting, security systems, and team mates that look out for each other. Seth Hanley, Partner.

Pros

Those with tenacious attitudes will find a lot of fulfillment working at Blitz

Cons

Not the best fit for junior employees; to do it better and faster, you have to be able to do the work first.
