I have been working at Digiday full-time

    Pros

Great opportunities to grow in a media company that is actually growing. There are people who go from entry level to manager in a couple years.

    Cons

It's a small media company. That means there are a lot of demands, intense deadlines, etc. This isn't for everyone. Lots of easier jobs.

    Pros

The Pros that have been listed are in line.

    Cons

The Cons are dead-on. I will only add that I wish I had reread the definition of NARCISSIST, which appropriately describes the owner.

    Advice to Management

RESPECT your employees who believe in your product, they all work hard for you.

I worked at Digiday full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The handful of talented people you will meet before they inevitably make a swift exit for greener pastures. It appears as though a former colleague removed his or her post from April 2018, which is a shame, it was painfully accurate. Given that the Editor in Chief decided to tweet about it, ostensibly in lieu of taking it into account, I dread that this person has been pressured to remove the review. Yikes. Perhaps...

    Cons

Digiday continues to do more with less: expectations rise while the budgets thin, and the morale that keeps employees afloat is the hope of launch-padding to a better career opportunity. Seriously, 75% of Digiday employees get a high off of talking about their ongoing job search. While the exposure to different industries and companies is nice, there’s no denying that Digiday products can often be embarrassing, and...

    Advice to Management

A little transparency could go a long way. Listen to your employees and realize that the behavior of some of those in charge is actively driving talent away. Recognize that much of the managerial tactics by these people are outmoded. Your time will continue to run thin if you don't treat the remaining talent with respect. We are not your media mules. Drop your egos and start listening...

I worked at Digiday full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some of the people are amazing. As previously mentioned, those people are usually out the door within a year or less. These select few people may be the only pro about Digiday.

    Cons

-Most of management is flat out horrible. -Digiday likes to promote growth potential, but growth is essentially non existent. Sure they will give you a new title, but you will just be doing the same job with 10 times more work added on and don't assume that a pay increase comes with a promotion. -There is a high school like mentality amongst employee's....and managers. -The employees that work the hardest are taken...

    Advice to Management

Not sure what advice there is left to give. Based on the reviews, it appears advice isn't taken into consideration. Maybe realize that there are a lot of wrongs and take legitimate steps to make them right. These negative reviews are not just from disgruntled employees. They are coming from employees that worked hard while with the company and left on good terms.

I worked at Digiday full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You make life long friends that will console you and take long walks with you towards the end. There are some very talented and intelligent individuals that work here.

    Cons

I mean how much time do you have? This place really makes you question your sanity. Mental Health is real, ya’ll. The fact that they are making glassdoor reviewers delete their reviews speaks volumes. There is absolutely no HR in place. Just one person that kind of got the job because he/she needed a job. One of the GM’s are so abusive that people in other departments quit because they can’t take the verbal abuse...

I mean clearly you aren’t listening to your employees so this section is null and void. Also, subtweeting is so 2009.

    I worked at Digiday full-time

    Pros

Extremely talented co-workers, great office location, ability to travel (depending on what department you're on), good place to start out if first or second job out of college, networking opportunities at events

    Cons

Little to no support from upper management, policies constantly changing without notice, lack of transparency from CEO, no real HR department, benefits are HORRIBLE, most people leave for better companies after 12 to 18 months because it gets very frustrating, finance situation is a mess, they put off paying vendors for months, issues usually get swept under the rug or are rarely addressed. I worked at Digiday full-time

    Pros

OK benefit, Talented staff members, good for resume / experience. People who worked in Digiday usually leave for great companies.

    Cons

-Overall management and finance is questionable. -Workload depends on the department and time. -People try to pull blame game on each other. -Could get extremely stressful on specific seasons. -The company goes for fun-family-like-motivated-start-up thing, yet it's not really ever fun (they try) nor family like. -Some managers are supportive and cool and some are just plain petty and passive aggressive. -People...

I worked at Digiday full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Location in SoHo was pretty convenient - You don't have to work on a PC. - Company has a good reputation to outsiders, but its smartest, most talented and experienced employees leave within 12–18 months.

    Cons

    - Inexperienced, incompetent managers received no training, thus never improved - Management continually sought opportunities to avoid paying employees; for example, I was cited policies that were written nowhere, made zero sense, and benefited the company, not the employee - Unreasonable project schedules and workload - 75% of everyone there

    Advice to Management

Think deeply about why the company has such high turnover and how the people who remain play a role in driving away good talent.

    Pros

Collaborative and open culture. This is a growing company that rewards people who take initiative and want to grow.

    Cons

At a small company, sometimes you wish you had more and better tech and resources. But overall work environment is positive.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to employees and seeking their feedback. It's appreciated.
