    Pros

wide array of interesting people work there, you can be on your own or hang with others as much as you prefer, lots of time to listen to podcasts audiobooks etc while you drive cars around, very easy and not complicated.

    Cons

very repetitive and sometimes feels like a waste of my life. perhaps not the case for everyone?

    Counter Sales Representative

    Pros

Hi I'm working at dollar rent a car at the honolulu airport. The pay is good if you have a passion for sales. If you don't have the drive to sell or build strong relationship with your customers you probably will fail. The secret to getting good money is knowing when to sell and when not to sell. But sky is the limit. If you keep practicing and refining your skill you will do well in this industry.

    Cons

The biggest con is yourself. If you don't constantly refine and tweak your sales pitch you probably won't do well. You must invest time in yourself. Read books on sales and techiniques. Copy and mimic the best agents and figure out how they do it and make it your own. Best advice I can give to new hires with no experience.

Late nights, Cranky customers, good commissions when you hit your monthly goals.

    Pros

Commissions average between 500-2500 a month in the winter and 2000-8000 in the summer. Never any overtime... Customers line for you to sell to them. You can have a job that makes 50k a year without a degree.

    Cons

Commissions vary wildly from month to month depending on how busy they are. It can be very boring at times just sitting there for hours on end. The next moment there is 50 customers demanding to leave with their car at the same time. Customers are tired, stressed and mad most of the time about traveling so the last thing they want is to be sold to. It can be a very stressful job.

Good pay but under staffing and hours all over the place makes things difficult

    Pros

even tho pay is $8.75 you do get incentives on the cars you clean if u clean over 30 cars in 1 day itll be 75 cent a car which can add up nicely on top of your checks

    Cons

gets slow during winter which means less cars to clean less hours less money you have to work outside in all weather conditions no matter what no benefits for part timers even tho theyll work u 40 + hours most of the time and managers can never make a schedule right so be prepared for them to call u in alot or ask u to change one of your days

    It Hurts at Hertz

Nov 15, 2015 - Customer Service Counter Rental Sales in Santa Ana, CA

    Business Outlook

    Pros

This is a good company to work at when you're starting out. The diversity of people you work with in this customer service based employment gives opportunity to hone your customer service skills with each individual experience

    Cons

Now as being run by the antiquated ideals of Hertz Corporation, managment lacks and your ability to earn money for yourself has been diminished considerable. However, lining the pockets of Hertz continues to increase. They make it impossible to earn commission and base pay is peanuts.
