Pros

No pros at all for this company.

Cons

Would rate no stars if possible. Cancelled all four sessions they hired me for, over a voicemail, just one week before camp was meant to start. I live in Charlotte, North Carolina and they were kind enough to offer me a job in Tampa, Florida, assuming I had family there to stay with... I do not have family in Tampa, as it happens. After flying me out for a training and then holding a second training, for which I brought all the necessary materials, you would have thought camp was a sure thing. Turns out, it's not. If you want guaranteed employment from a reliable company, Drobots isn't for you!!!!!!!!! Thanks.

Thank you for your review. We have taken steps to clarify our offer letters and the company policy handbook. While the company handbook has always stipulated that our schedules are dependent on the schools themselves recruiting campers, we understand that handbooks aren't always read in their entirety, and so we've taken extra steps to communicate this for 2019's camp season. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

Actually working with the kids can be fun, when scheduled.

Cons

I honestly don't know where to begin. The curriculum doesn't really keep the kids attention or has really bad pacing. Some drag on for WAY too long. The favorite games for the kids were ones that the other instructor and I altered because we didn't think they would work. We ended up having to do a lot of improv during the week. Overall the communication throughout the company, unless you are in a higher position is god awful. No one ever answered the HR phone during business hours, emails took even longer to get answered, and there was no line of communication except for the person who was working at the same camp, and even then you cant get that until you get to the location. It took me nearly two weeks to even get in contact with someone about taking a day off, and even then I was required to take the entire week off. Scheduling is a MAJOR issue for a lot of instructors. I was hired in what I believed to be a full-time position for the entire summer (June-August). I worked 1 full week, two half weeks (Morning or afternoon classes) and then had 6 FULL weeks with no schedule. week after week being informed that they either had to cancel the camps or couldn't put me on the schedule. Because of this, I haven't been able to pay my bills for half the summer until I scrambled to get a new position. On top of that, there were issues with payroll where some people didn't get paid for almost a full week after the payday, and one instance where there was an over pay on my first paycheck, which means they took the ENTIRETY of my second pay check. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE.

Thank you for your review. We've taken steps in the off season to create better communicate mechanisms so that expectations in terms of work hours are more clear moving forward. We're sorry it wasn't an all-around positive experience for you, and we wish you the best.

Pros

None to brag about for this company.

Cons

I was hired in April to work two weeks in July that left me unable to really find another job for the summer months before going back to school in August. I completed all of the training the required which included almost three-four hours of videos, on-site training that had a lot of stop and wait for technology to be fixed, and then two one hour webinars that were late at night. All of this had to be completed before our scheduled camp weeks. Four days before camp was to start, the office called after normal working hours to say both weeks were cancelled. Maybe two days later I was removed from every platform used for communication between employees and the office. I am still waiting for a compensation check for completing all of the training as required by the company and had been “cut and mailed” almost two weeks ago.
