Abbtech failed to pay me last week after having been on a contract position at the IRS for nearly 6 months. My recruiter who only works part time while he is in school, failed to resolve the matter quickly. No response yet from payroll. A lot of "it was someone else's job fingerpointing" even after I told them I had late fees from being late on my rent. They took 3 months to get my background checks finished wihich is mainly due to the government's slow movement. However, they finally decided to start paying me (after 3 months of waiting) until the goverment was ready to bring me on site. Several start dates that were rescheduled and also, I had to ask repeatedly for Abbtech to keep their word and pay me after they promised to do so. After I was brought on at the IRS, Abbtech did pay weekly durring a 4 week government shutdown. However this recent blunder of a missed paycheck with ZERO explanation is totally unaccetpable. Their project manager for this particular project was mysteriously replaced and it took over a week to update people about the replacement. Their management of the project is confused, delayed, and fragmented. There is seeming constantant battles and miscommunication between the IRS supervisors we work under and the Abbtech leadership. It is simply NOT worth messing with. AVOID this company unless you are truely desparate fora job.
I also worked for them breifly at an Air Force base undergoing a Win10 refresh. Much like the IRS project...a total cluster of miscommunication, frustration and mismanagement. I am really surprised the government does not fire Abbtech and remove them as a contractor. Maybe they have good connections with high level people. My advice is to simply avoid Abbtech at all costs. There are plenty of other contracting tech companies that are making an effort to treat people write and exercise at least a minimal level of project management competency. Abbtech is NOT a company you want to waste your time with. Their 2.5 overall rating says it all.
